Entering the Inner Sanctuary
Enter this sanctuary time by settling down, becoming quiet, and breathing deeply a few breaths. Remind yourself you are in the Presence of Love. This place you are entering, within, is the inner Temple. Here, you are One with Spirit and all persons, and Nature. You may use a mantra, or prayer phrase, follow the breathing in-and-out, or witness the arising and falling of all around you as the manifestation of universal-Grace. There is in us an instinct for newness, for renewal, for a liberation of creative power. We seek to awaken in ourselves a force which really changes our lives from within. And yet the same instinct tells us that this change is a recovery of that which is deepest, most original, most personal in ourselves. To be born again is not to become somebody else, but to become ourselves.

Prayer essentially is not asking for things, even the best. Prayer is a conduit of the Life Force into the world. The Life Force is always Loving, intending the best for everyone, and for you. Prayer, spiritually, is an expression of the One who is Love, however you understand That.
Words provide a form for the entrance of the Formless into the phenomenal world. Prayer, then, is a co-creative act with the Divine Source.
When you pray, you are sharing in the removal of selfishness from your mind-heart stream. When you pray, truly, you are becoming godly. When you truly pray, you are aligning with Love, agreeing with what the Beloved wills for all creation.
Therefore, pray from Love to Love. Pray, in order to be more Loving.
